Criminal Lawyers on
the Central Coast

Charged and due at Wyong, Gosford or Woy Woy Local Court? We appear at these courts regularly and we will not make you feel judged for being there.

Facing a Criminal Charge on the Central Coast

Most people charged with an offence have never been in trouble before. They are not career criminals. They are a tradie who blew over on the way home, a parent caught up in an AVO after a bad night, a young bloke who threw a punch outside a pub in Terrigal. What they share is the same set of fears: their licence, their job, and whether this follows them for the rest of their life.

That is where Ryan & Ryan comes in. Our criminal lawyers act for people across the Central Coast and appear regularly at Wyong, Gosford and Woy Woy Local Courts. We will not lecture you. We work out what happened, what the prosecution can actually prove, and how to put your case in the best position before you walk into court.

Everyone deserves a proper defence and a second chance, including on the worst day of their year.

Why Choose Our Central Coast Criminal Lawyers

We are at these courts anyway. Wyong, Gosford and Woy Woy are our local courts and we appear there regularly. Knowing how a particular list runs and how a matter is best presented locally is worth more than it sounds.

We travel to court at no cost to you. You are not paying for someone’s drive time on top of everything else.

We handle what comes after, too. Charges often arrive tangled up with a separation, an AVO or a job at risk. The firm runs family law as well, so you are not repeating your story to a second lawyer across town.

And we treat you like a person. Everyone deserves a proper defence and a second chance, including on the worst day of their year.

How We Run Your Criminal Defence

1. Get in touch

Call (02) 4397 1500 or book a time. The earlier we are involved, the more options you have. Bring your court attendance notice and the police facts if you have them.

2. First consultation

We work through what you have been charged with, what the police say happened, and what they can actually prove. You will get a frank view of where you stand.

3. A clear plan and price

Whether to defend the charge or plead, what material is worth preparing, and what realistically influences a magistrate. We will explain the range of outcomes without promising you one.

4. We get it done

We turn up at Wyong, Gosford or Woy Woy and run your matter. You are not standing up on your own.

Criminal Law FAQs

It depends on what is at stake. If your licence, your job or your travel is on the line, advice is worth having. Even where a plea is the sensible course, how a matter is prepared and presented affects what a magistrate does with it.

Licence consequences depend on the range, your record and the circumstances. There are outcomes that avoid a conviction in some cases, and there are appeal rights if a licence decision goes against you. Nobody can promise you a result, and you should be wary of anyone who does.

It is a finding of guilt without a conviction being recorded, now most often a conditional release order without conviction. Whether it is available depends on the offence, your history and what you can put before the court. We will tell you honestly whether it is realistic in your matter.

Do not ignore it and do not contact the protected person. Read the conditions carefully, because breaching them is a separate criminal offence. Then get advice quickly, particularly if children or a family law matter are involved.

Not before someone has read the police facts. People plead to charges the prosecution could not have proven, or to facts that are worse than what actually happened. Even where pleading is right, the facts can often be negotiated first.

Yes. We appear at all three Central Coast Local Courts, and we travel to court at no cost to you.

It depends on the charge and whether the matter is defended or resolved by plea. We will discuss fees at the first meeting and, for many Local Court matters, can give you a clear figure up front so you are not guessing.
